  • By placing an order for our print services, you accept and agree to the following terms and conditions:

Neighbourhood Press uses the Risograph printer for all printing services. In some cases Neighbourhood Press will outsource other printing and binding methods on client request. Due to the nature of Risograph printing, during the printing process potential imperfections might occur.

    • Uneven ink coating will occur due to the printing process of the machine. We try to avoid this issue as much as possible, but when large areas of ink are printed, uneven distribution of ink might be noticeable. To avoid this issue, please read our print guide.

    • Track marks may appear on prints that require more than a single coloured layer. When printing two or more colours, the machines paper feed and pressure roller has a higher chance of transferring wet ink as track or roller marks. These marks for the most part can be erased but in some cases cannot be removed.

    • When printing multiple colours, misregistration/misalignment and skewing might occur, of up to 3mm. A multiple colour or double-sided print requires multiple passes through the machine, causing a higher rate of misalignment between layers and pages.

    • Due to the nature of the Risograph inks, smudging may occur on a finished print and may leave residue on other prints. Risograph inks are environmentally friendly, soy-based and have a tactility akin to newspaper prints.

    • When trimming an order artwork can shift up to 5mm, due to print area restrictions and cropping. Please remember to allow for creep and bleed when designs zines or booklets.

  • For custom print orders placed via email the following payment terms apply:

Production will only begin once a non-refundable 40% deposit has been paid. Upon collection of the order, it is expected the client will pay for the goods prior to or at the point of collection. We have card facilities at our studio, however it is recommended that the client makes a direct bank transfer.

  • Production and turnaround times greatly depend on the complexity of the project. Factors such as the number of copies needed, coloured layers, double-sided printing, the binding method and finishing will affect the final delivery date. Deadlines must be presented by the client during the quote process and confirmed again during the invoice process.

Orders that require less than 10 business days for production are subject to a rush-fee of 20% and may be added at the discretion of Neighbourhood Press. If arranging delivery of the order, we will always factor in shipping as part of the production time, however we are not responsible for any delays caused by the shipping carrier. All jobs will begin production once all files are print-ready and payment of the non-refundable 40% deposit is completed.

  • We ship worldwide using Sendle and Australia Post. We take great care of all our products and orders, ensuring to safely package each item to prevent all damages to the final order. Any damages that occur during transit must be formally filed to the delivery company. We are not responsible for any delays caused by the carrier and will not process any refunds for late deliveries. For more information, please read our full shipping & returns policy.

  • Upon request, we can advise you on a file setup that will best fit the scope of your project. Once your file(s) have been submitted, we will look over your file(s) before production. If there are any outstanding errors in your file(s), we will warn you of said errors as well as tips on how to fix them. With that being said, we are not an editorial service and will not meticulously check your file(s). We are not responsible for any technical, editorial or design errors that may be present in your print ready file(s). Such errors include but are not limited to;

    • Grammatical and spelling errors

    • Low-resolution images

    • Incorrect colour matching/profiling created by the client, for example colours printing lighter or darker than anticipated due to file setup.

    • Wrongly specified printing options, sizes, colours/inks, finishing options, quantity etc.

    • Design errors, such as underestimated sizing, typeface choice, margin placements, incorrect bleed, image orientation, incorrect photography edits, line weight etc.

    • Delivery delays due to client’s slow responses, incorrect file setup or delays in file submission

  • We reserve the right to showcase any/all of out client’s printed work as part of our portfolio, website, social media platforms and printers proofs will be kept on file in our print archives. We acknowledge the confidential nature of projects and agree to only display a client’s work once a project has been publicly launched. Under no circumstances will we display content if the client requests us not to. We ask when sharing the printed matter to please tag Neighbourhood Press and credit the printed work correctly using @neighbourhoodpress or by including a link to our website.

  • For us to begin the printing process, we need to understand the full extent of your project to provide you with the highest quality service. Doing so will ideally require frequent contact and updates of all of the order details. This can be done through email but we are also happy to meet with clients upon request.

We quote for each job based on it’s unique requirements. Once a quote has been reviewed and agreed upon, we will send you an invoice that confirms the details of your order and will request that you pay a non-refundable 40% deposit to secure a spot in our schedule. Please review the invoice carefully before paying the 40% deposit, as the paid deposit cannot be refunded. If in the case you need to cancel your order within 48 hours of the deadline, you will still be charged the full amount or part thereof for the total amount of the order that was completed.

Before paying for our services you may request a single page test print of your artwork before production. However, due to the initial set up being the most labour intensive and costly part of the process we don’t generally do test prints. We do however ask clients to send a full colour mockup of how they envisage the print in Risograph so we can advise you if your artwork needs to be modified to meet that vision. If test prints are required they come at a cost of a standard print run and are costed based on the number of colours that require testing. These test prints can be photographed and emailed to you, picked up from our studio or mailed to you with additional shipping. Please note, masters/stencils made during test prints can not be held on the drums or kept for use during the final print run. All orders and materials required will be invoiced in addition to any test prints.

  • Your cooperation and understanding of our cancellation policy is greatly appreciated. If you have booked a place and are unable to attend a workshop for any reason, please let us know as soon as possible so that your place may be offered to someone else. Unfortunately refunds cannot be issued for cancellations made less than 48 hours prior to the workshop.

In certain circumstances, you may be able to transfer the payment to an alternative future workshop. This is offered at the discretion of Neighbourhood Press. In the event that a transfer is agreed between both parties it is understood that no further refunds or transfers will be permitted.

In the event of the cancellation of a workshop by the organiser (e.g. due to insufficient numbers or illness), you will receive a full refund of the workshop fee. Some workshops will require a minimum number of participants to run; this is at the discretion of the course presenter. Please ensure you have provided us with your best telephone contact number and email so we can get in touch with you if necessary. If the organiser needs to cancel a workshop due to insufficient numbers, we will endeavour to provide 24 hours notice.
